Twenty Degrees. That's how much we angled in the new wall of this kitchen to better access southern sunlight and forest views. Its resulting intersection with the sloped ceiling also rises as it tilts, directing visual energy outward and upward towards the sky. Meanwhile, in the wall's resulting acute-angled corner we tucked a built-in banquette.

The skylit workspace is meticulously detailed.  Its clean lines play counterpoint to the rusticity of the 1800's dwelling, and - we hope - lend a touch of serenity to the messy realities of domestic life.
