Downtowns Studio
Our Downtowns Studio represents a philosophy as much as services. We believe that vibrant, walkable, economically viable downtowns are keys to a deeper sustainability.
Our expertise has expanded well beyond architecture - We catalyze and organize communities, develop statewide partnerships, and invent business models to spur investment.
For municipalities, we conduct feasibility studies for mixed use buildings (often with NYMS-TA grants across New York State), develop Main Street LLC coalitions, help form and manage local Downtown Associations, write and administer grants and pursue historic district nominations, craft design guidelines and individual facade recommendations for hundreds of buildings, and propose public space improvements.
For owners - in addition to full design and renovation services, we prepare pro-forma and cash flow analysis, advise on the tools available to help navigate tax credits, grant sources, exemptions, abatements, and other incentives.
